Sunshine challenge Prompt 5 : 35 Blue icons+others

Blue is a tranquil color that is associated with a variety of things including: balance, discovery, peace, calm, openness, patience, honor, grace, trust, depression, recovery, prophecy, respect, empathy, flexibility, and water.
Blue is often introspective and deep in its calm stillness.

So we're at my favourite colour. I do like every shade of blue,I've never seen a shade I disliked...like ever?!XD
Oddly,I have very few clothes that are blue. Not just clothes,but there's a lack of blue in the material things I own. I do gravitate towards blue a lot when drawing/colouring. Around 2018 I noticed that almost all my icon posts had more blue icons & started actively trying to use other colours.
There are plenty of things to talk about with blue so again, this post is divided into cuts. Sorry for the giant post!


Part 1:Mo Dao Zu Shi & The Untamed

Respect,grace,balance,calm,peace,honor,trust,patience are all very much embodied by the people of the Lan sect.The Lan sect is represented by a Blue Cloud symbol. The members of the sect wear a white ribbon "to regulate oneself".

Moving on to The Untamed(drama)

My favourite character Lan Xichen from Mo dao zu shi/ The Untamed had to be iconed, especially the drama version because he has plenty of blue outfits. :D

Part 5: Miura Haruma. CW: Mention of suicide so please refrain if this triggers you.


If you've ever been into Japanese shows/movies, Miura Haruma is very recognizable. Just yesterday on twitter I saw the shocking news of his death, allegedly suicide, and it really truly brought me to tears. I'm not good with words so I honestly can't explain how deeply sad I am about this.



I don't have a lot of celebrities I can call 'favourite' but he was one of the few. One of my first J-drama was 'Samurai High School' with Miura Haruma playing the main character. The latest of his shows I'd been watching was 'Two Weeks' but was waiting for subtitles to finish it fully.
His acting skills were superb, the kind where I cry when he cries, I am angry when he's angry etc.

The whole idea of 'you never know what another person is going through' really hit hard yesterday. He was one of Japan's most popular actor, successful,famous and all of that. I may not be able to fathom the idea of taking one's own life but I hope he's in a better place. I will miss his beautiful smile and so much more. That's all I can say.



Because I was so blue all of yesterday,I saw that oldtoadwoman was taking requests for blue icons here and I requested for some Miura Haruma ones. The ones with his smile just made my heart ache so much. Here are the beautiful icons I received:

I've been in KAT-TUN (Johnny's, Jpop & acting) fandom for the last 12 years and as these things work, have known about Miura Haruma for a good while because he got cast alongside some of the JE crowd in dramas. I was also shocked to hear of his death (well, my entire Japan-going clique was) and it seemed so surreal. I'd heard that suicide is not uncommon among Asian idols but this was the first time it happened with someone whose name I knew and whom I could actually pick out of a lineup.

I really wonder what happened to make him so desperate, but I suspect they'll never tell us.

Liking all your Lan blues! I agree on their rooms, when I was discussing with friends which sect I'd find it most easy to live in my answer was essentially, "Jiang, as long as I can keep out of the way of the Sulky Purple One, but I'd want my room decorated like a Lan room."

Yeah,suicide is often heard about in Japan and I've heard a lot of it in the Kpop industry but like you said, this was the first time it happened to a celeb that I knew.
Also haha,I would love to live in the Jiang sect too! :D There's something about the liveliness there but on a holiday or a retreat I'd go to Gusu. These Lans really know their decor.Well, all the sects are very good looking but the Lan ones are verycalming to me.:)

Oh, lovely blues, fabulous images! What stands out – for me, of course, but perhaps also more objectively because of its different tone and different level of detail in the portrayal, with even the lack of eyes – is the gorgeous sad Remus. His curls! His posture, and the deep blue, and some shimmer of hope, which he can't see yet? Ever more eagerly looking forward to your art at a HP fest!

I am very saddened to hear about Miura Haruma's passing as well. I am not as familiar with him and his career as you were, but it is always so sad and painful when such a tragedy happens. I hope he is in a better place as well, and my thoughts go out to him, his family, his loved ones, and his fans.

YES. 100% agreeing that the synchronized dance-like martial arts moves by the Twin Jades of Gusu would have been an EXCELLENT addition to the live action version. The Untamed has a LOT going for it (the actors' chemistry, gorgeous landscapes, soundtrack etc.), but when it comes to graceful and visually-pleasing action sequences, the animated version is definitely superior in this aspect. :)
