Sunshine challenge Prompt 4 : GREEN icons+others
Green is a rich color that is associated with a variety of things including: awakening, growth, renewal, productivity, intelligence, exuberance, prosperity, money, luck, envy, greed, survival, nature, spring, and birth.
There's a lot to say about green, the fourth colour going on at

First off, green makes me think of elves. So my favourite: Legolas from LOTR.

Rufus is also an elf from Valkyrie Profile 2 that was my favourite character once. Keira Knightley's dress from Atonement immediately comes to mind although I haven't watched the movie but her green dress is iconic & talked about a lot. Of course there's gonna be baby Yoda who went viral because of his cuteness.

Zhao Yunlan from Guardian embodies exuberance, luck, awakening(of feelings in Shen Wei :D). He has a lot of green outfits in the form of vests, jackets, pants and even his t-shirts sometimes have a green-ish tinge. His 'good vibes only' shirt is one of my faves.

After ZYL, of course it's Shen Wei from Guardian. While I associate him more with blue, he's definitely intelligent, has money (or so it seems), survives 10000 years+, grew up in nature. I associate renewal and productivity with him too. Can others in the fandom point out anything else they feel that's 'green' about SW? Green also makes me think of the scenes in icon 6.

Nie Mingjue from Mo dao zu shi / The Untamed. The animated version has him in olive green. Also portrays productivity.

Nie Huaisang from MDZS / The Untamed. Green outfit-clan colours.Intelligence, money, survival, prosperity & a bit of exuberance for him.

Favourite character of the Free! anime series:Makoto Tachibana. The colour green is associated with him by default,he has a calming aura like that of the Spring season. He's a good teacher so awakening others' potential-yes. :D

Beautiful Morgana from BBC Merlin. I love her velvet cloak and this dress of hers, really brings out her eyes. <3 Awakening, renewal, envy, greed and survival are also portrayed by her character.

As always, all icons are welcome to use with credit. :)
This movie is my favourite one the Chronicles of Narnia Series and I immediately thought of it when I saw the green prompt. This movie has shades of green throughout it.I know it's the greenery around but I think it's also the colouring of the movie from the start.

My country's (Bangladesh) flag is red and green so during Victory day (16th December) people wear green & red outfits, jewellery, shoes etc.

I also live in Saudi Arabia, have been since I was a kid. Saudi Arabia's flag is also green. In fact, on Saudi National Day (23rd September) the whole country is quite...green,lol. The decorations, lighting in the streets, the green clothes, cake, the fireworks-so much GREEN! I wish I had pictures to show from my collection but I tried googling and came up with a few.

I also learned something new about Bangladesh! The traditional outfits are beautiful, and the green Saudi cake has me hungry.

Also, ahem, MDZS is a Chinese animation adapted from a novel of the same name which centers around demons, sword fights,magic-basically fantasy based ancient China. The main characters are Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji and a whole set of really interesting side characters.
I think the BL aspect of it made it very popular but there's so much more to every character. There's politics too because of the five clans so there's a lot to like in it apart form the main pairing.I actually started with the drama version-The Untamed and that one is completed with some changes due to censorship.
I watched the animated version afterwards which has two seasons and a third one is being teased by the producers right now!
And if you're curious & ever get into any of the versions, hehe, check out our MDZS comm at

SOLD. I've got a few things on my list to get to first, but I'm joining the comm and will absolutely give this a shot when I get down the list more!

Yes, festive clothes in our country usually use cotton with patterns. :) Glad you find them pretty!!

💚
Now I want cake.
Re: 💚
Funny thing is I am practicing my own cake decorating and it's...a process. It's time consuming and has made me cry sometimes but I love people's reactions to all that hard work and it's even better when they like the taste of it & enjoy it so that makes it worth the time & effort. :D

That Saudi cake looks amazing! But LOL it never registered on me that you live in Saudi Arabia... what's that like?

Living in SA is kinda like living in a bubble is the best I can describe it as. As someone who is an expat, I do wish there wasn't such a disconnect among the Saudis and expats.
Mostly we live within our communities,y'know;like Indians hang out with Indians, Filipinos with other filipinos & so on. There are a lot of international people here but outside of work, people of other countries rarely spend time together. :(
A lot has changed in Saudi in the last few years;women can FINALLY drive, lol! There are more women working everywhere. Before you'd see female workers in hospitals or women-only spaces like gyms/spas etc. but all that's changed. The abaya(which is the long robe you wear on top) isn't mandatory anymore but most people still wear it. Makes my life easier!XD You can wear your PJs inside but look chic on the outside!
People definitely are a lot more relaxed and spend a whole lot of time with family. Before the corona started, weekend parties and outings would start from Thursday night all the way to Saturday. Nothing fancy, people either meet up in houses or sea-side & such.Like the pictures here:
Even in the early 2000s, English wasn't very common among the Saudis so the language barrier was huge.Again, that's changed for the better.
Since it is a monarch, whatever the king says goes & you have to be super careful about your words/info you send online...that sort of thing.
But all in all, it's more like a home to me having been here for so long & the standard of life I can live here is definitely better than what I could for the same amount back in my home country.
LMAO,sorry for the long post.XD

I'm glad the restrictions aren't so restrictive any more and IDK where your home country is but if it's the UK or the US, I can totally belive that about the standard of life, too.

My home country is Bangladesh but if you have to live there the way I do in Saudi, I have to really spend extra carefully & just generally worry about running out of money, worrying & overthinking like I do also doesn't help /o\

Very interesting things I did not know about Bangladesh or Saudi Arabia. (That green cake is... um... making me think it must taste of grass. ;))
no subject
Also lmao,I'm sure the cake is just green velvet cake but if you added some pandan leaves maybe it would have a grassy taste?!Or add actual grass for someone you don't like very much?!XD
