XD Also,ahem, MDZS is a Chinese animation adapted from a novel of the same name which centers around demons, sword fights,magic-basically fantasy based ancient China. The main characters are Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji and a whole set of really interesting side characters.
I think the BL aspect of it made it very popular but there's so much more to every character. There's politics too because of the five clans so there's a lot to like in it apart form the main pairing.I actually started with the drama version-The Untamed and that one is completed with some changes due to censorship.
I watched the animated version afterwards which has two seasons and a third one is being teased by the producers right now!
